Our history
From farmhouse to the "Grubacher"
Our story begins with a small farm. Bernhard’s parents, Johann and Barbara, ran it with great dedication and passion. Even back then, we welcomed guests – mainly youth groups. And at some point, the idea arose to develop it further.
In 2005, an extension was added to the farmhouse. New rooms and suites were created, along with our restaurant, the kitchen and the wine cellar. Step by step, a hotel has grown that still embodies both the cosiness of the past and the comfort of the present.
Now it’s our turn – Bernhard and Gina, together with our three children, Emely, Chiara and Johann. We run the Grubacher with great respect for what our family has built up, but also with our own ideas and visions.
Rooted. Grown. Reimagined.
The Grubacher is a house steeped in history. Shaped by several generations, it has grown alongside the region and is deeply connected to nature. Today, our family-run business is undergoing a transformation: step by step, the younger generation is taking on more responsibility and developing the former farmhouse into a modern, multi-generational hotel.
Authentic products, short supply chains and genuine craftsmanship. For us, the Grubacher is more than just a hotel. It is our home, our history and what we want to pass on together with the next generation.
Today, the Grubacher combines tradition with new ideas, farming with culinary delights, and time-honoured hospitality with modern comfort. A home for several generations. With strong roots and a deep love for our homeland.
It’s lovely to have you as part of it.
